Spring Reset & Inside Our April Events
Before the pace picks up, we’re taking a moment to get organized. Small systems like clean calendars, clear files, and intentional planning make a big difference when event days get busy.
We asked our team to share the habits they rely on to stay on top of it all. Below are a few of their go-to tips, followed by how that same approach showed up at recent events like Dragonfly and GLASA.
Spring Cleaning, EmPOWERed-Style
Pro tip: Google Calendar lets you create a single scheduling link that checks multiple calendars at once.

Pro tip: Don’t default to an hour. Choose the length based on what actually needs to get done.

Pro tip: Before each week begins or even the day before, block focused time for specific projects and color code by category or client. This will help you stay accountable and track how you’re spending your time.

Pro tip: Consolidate duplicate files and create simple naming conventions so everything is easier to maintain.

Pro tip: Clean out and inventory your event supplies, create a standard packing list for your boxes, and keep a roles + responsibilities doc updated so everyone knows exactly what they need to do.

GLASA Gala: A Lesson in Day-Of Event Support
At the GLASA Gala, our role was simple: be wherever our client couldn't be. Registration? Covered. Awards? Handled. Bid numbers tallied before the night ended? Done. When our client got pulled in another direction, we carried it forward — so they never missed an opportunity to engage with their donors and Board members.
That's the real value of having Empowered Nonprofits onsite. We are here, so your team can do what you're meant to do: lead, connect, and champion the mission.
Dragonfly: How to Make Your Theme Immersive
The most effective event themes shape the entire experience.
For Dragonfly’s 5-year anniversary gala, SOAR: Five Years of Flight guided every decision. Every detail was built around movement, lift, and forward momentum. From cotton candy clouds to pop-a-shot and live golf activations, guests didn’t just see the theme, they stepped into it.
That’s what immersive branding looks like in practice. It doesn’t need explanation because it’s felt throughout the night.
