Cultivating a Culture of Empowered Values
As we approached 5 years of Empowered Nonprofits, we decided it was time to revisit our mission and vision. We put into practice what we preach, and carved out time during our weekly team meetings to collaborate and reflect on our own impactful work.
We asked ourselves:
Does the mission and vision of Empowered reflect who we are as professionals, how we show up for our clients, and the impact we want to make in our communities?
This process was a meaningful way to align, connect, and clarify what drives us forward as individuals and as a team. Through thoughtful conversations and laughter (we always make time for fun!), we reshaped our mission and vision and created five core values that truly embody how we work, show up, and partner with our clients.

Empowered Nonprofit’s Core 5 Values
1. Empowering by Example: We will leave you with the framework and tools for sustainable growth.
Our goal is to leave you better than when we came: equipped with the tools, confidence, and framework for sustainable growth. We don’t just do the work, we share our expertise in a way that empowers your team to carry it forward. Real impact lasts beyond a single project, and true partnership means building your capacity, not your dependence.
2. Integrity: We are honest, reliable, and will always do right by you.
We listen carefully, adapt when needed, and keep the bigger picture in view. Our goal is to partner with you, combine your foundation with our expertise so we can make informed decisions together. We care about your resources as much as you do, and we’re not afraid to share our guidance and pivot if the path forward calls for it. Integrity means honoring who you are, offering what we know, and building toward shared success.
3. Genuine Dedication: Your mission becomes our mission.
Your goals become our goals. We are invested in your success, and are committed to outcomes that are meaningful, strategic, and lasting. Our dedication shows up in how we work, treat your time, manage your budget, and work with your people with the highest level of care and respect. We also bring energy, focus, and heart to every step of the process.
4. Mission Driven: We are building a better world through you.
We intentionally partner with organizations whose mission we believe in, and align with our values. Your impact on the community matters to us, and we’re invested in helping you thrive. We don’t just support good causes, we get behind them with everything we’ve got! Like any good advocate, we stand behind what we support. Your mission becomes our motivation, and your success is part of the future we want to see.
5. Celebrate Success: Your wins are our wins.
Whether it’s a major fundraising milestone, a powerful event, or a small breakthrough, we make it a point to pause and acknowledge progress. We believe that celebrating wins, big or small, not only builds momentum but strengthens connection. When you succeed, it’s a shared victory, and we’re right there cheering you on every step of the way.
Empowered In Action
This month, our team has been out and about! From event tastings to parlor meetings – we have done it all. Here are some of our April highlights:
ICRF’s Revolving Tables event had their biggest year yet! The event surpassed their fundraising goal by $20,000 raising over $126,000. From the raffle signs, to table toppers, to cocktail hour, and program deck, we thoughtfully designed everything to ensure guests felt connected to the organization from start to finish.
One of the sponsorship levels allowed for sponsors to be featured on the cocktail napkins. We focused on incorporating creative details, and it was a success!
We also helped our client Camp Ben Frankel (CBF) raise funds for their Israeli Camper Campaign. We organized a major gifts campaign, helped to develop the case for support and supported a beautiful parlor meeting in Chicago at the home of one of their board members. We later coordinated a virtual event that brought the community together to discuss the impact of Antisemitism from Kindergarten through College. Ultimately, we exceeded the campaign goal by $30,000 and we're thrilled that 24 Israeli campers will be able to attend camp in the United States this summer.
A few weeks ago, we joined HHPLift for their annual board retreat.
We spent the day with the team, strengthening connections, sharing laughs, and celebrating their impact in creating job opportunities for individuals overcoming barriers to employment.
